| | | | | VES-matic Line A complete range of automatic systems for performing erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) tests using 1 mL of blood. With the introduction of the Ves-matic System DIESSE brings to the clinical diagnostic market a truly revolutionary testing system which addresses and resolves every technical limitation associated with the traditional ESR techique.
By means of a fully automated analyzer and a especially designed blood collection tube, the Ves-matic system upgrades the quality of the ESR procedure to the standards of modern laboratory medicine and offers a unique combination of safety and walk-away convenience. All Ves-matic systems read in 20 and 40 minutes the first and second hour results according to the Westergreen method. | | | Components The Ves-matic system has two primary components; the instrument (VesMatic Easy, Ves-matic 20, Ves-matic 30, and Minives) and the Ves-matic testing tube (Vacu tec, Ves tec). The selection of the appropriate components is based on the sample collection method, daily testing volume and data handling requirements of the lab.
The Ves-matic Analyzer The Ves-matic analyzer is a bench top instrument for ESR measurement, which automatically and homogeneously analyzes the specimens to avoid the inaccuracies caused by inadequate sample preparation and testing tecnique.
The operator introduces the samples in the instrument and the instrument mixes the samples itself (except MiniVes) and reads the ESR value after 20 minutes. For lower or higher temperatures than 18° there is a temperature correction that normalizes the ESR value to 18° according the Manley nomogram. Main characteristics of the Ves-matic Analyzer: • Mixing and reading are fully automated and incorporated in the same instrument (except MiniVes) • Homogeneous and standardized mixing (except MiniVes) • Photometric infrared reading to avoid interference caused by the presence of lipids or bilirubin in the samples • The end point ESR reading is elettronically timed and the actual value of the sedimentation is given. • The tube has an inclination of 18° • Results in only 25 minutes
• Temperature correction MiniVes has been specifically designed for the doctor’s office and near patient testing and it uses normally freshly collected blood that shall be mixed manually by 15 complete inversion of the tube as indicated by ICSH and NCCLS.
The Ves-matic analyzer is available in five different models, your choice depends upon your laboratory’s volume of testing:
| MiniVes | 4 samples processed simultaneously | | Ves-matic Easy | 10 samples processed simultaneously and random access | | Ves-matic 20 | 20 samples processed simultaneously | | Ves-matic 30 | 30 samples processed simultaneously | The Ves-matic Testing Tubes: Vacu Tec Tubes Vacu tec tubes serve as both primary collection tubes and testing cuvettes. The patented design mantains blood sample in a totally “closed” system during drawing, handling and analyzing procedures, minimizing technician exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Vacu tec tubes are prefilled with 0 .36 mL of sodium citrate providing automatic 4:1 sample dilution. Patient samples are stable in Vacu tec tubes for 4 hours when stored at room temperature, and can be refrigerated up to 12 hours before testing. Vacu tec tube features: • Used as a collection tube and testing cuvette. Compatible with any standard needle holder.
• Tube is evacuated and automatically draws about 1.0 mL of blood. • Pre-filled with 0.36 mL of sodium citrate to provide automatic 4:1 dilution of blood. • Risk of accidental contamination reduced by use of plastic Vacu tec tube. (*) VesMatic Cube 200 to be introduced in the USA shortly
